H.B.Hawke of Kapunda - A biographical essay
Julia Segaran
This unpublished essay is part of original family history research into Henry Binney Hawke through Cornish Parish Records, both in Cornwall and online, the Kapunda Herald, the Adelaide and Kapunda Rate Assessment records and his rather convoluted land titles.
Julia Segaran is in the process of re-entering life as a historian. As Julia Marsden she graduated with a BA (Hons.) from the University of Adelaide in 1965. During her working life as a teacher of History and English, mostly in Malaysia, she also completed a Masters degree in Malaysian history at the University of Malaya. Retirement from the University of Adelaide International Office has provided an opportunity to explore South Australian history with a focus on family history as a useful starting point.
