This essay was originally submitted as an assignment for graduate studies undertaken in 1999. It was revised and expanded in 2010-2011.
Caroline Adams graduated as a Registered Nurse (RAH) before gaining an Ass Dip in Social Work (SAIT). After working in aged care, she studied for a diploma in dance teaching in studio and workshop settings. She obtained a BA (GU) and Graduate Diploma in Humanities from UNEand an MLitt (UNE) for a thesis centred on Australian nurses in WW1. Her PhD thesis (Monash) focused on nurses in the Boer War.
